Ponch Hawkes is a Melbourne-based photographer. Performance photography has been a major thread in her practice since the seventies, She has worked with Circus Oz and many other physical performance,theatre and dance companies and solo artists. And she still loves it!
Ben Searcy is an Adelaide-based freelance photographer and photojournalist. His passion and speciality lies within creating images that capture the humanity, integrity and individuality of characters he encounters.In 2007 he was the winner of the prestigious photographic award: the Doug Moran Contemporary Photographic Prize

Welcome to ‘TAKE A BOW’ An exciting new prize for performance photography presented by the Ballarat International Foto Biennale in conjunction with Royal South Street Society, Ballarat Regional Tourism, and our sponsors Studio Gallery Eleven40 and Canon
The competition will culminate in a 9 day exhibition of the finalist images at the Ballarat Mechanics Institute from Saturday October 20th to Sunday October 29th 2012
The exhibition will open daily from 10.00am to 5.00pm and will also include exhibitions by some of our most accomplished performance photographers JEFF BUSBY, PONCH HAWKES and BEN SEARCY. Exhibition entry is FREE
